Not all areas of Kubwa have good access roads. Some terrains are more difficult to navigate than the others .This is where Okada comes in. Okada makes it easier for Kubwa residents to access major roads from seemingly inaccessible areas.
Generally speaking, Okadas are not as safe, their lack of cover makes them vulnerable. Some Okada riders are not helping matters as they continue to over speed, ignore traffic lights etc putting themselves and passengers involved in harms way. But what happens if Okada is no more? How will Kubwa residents access difficult terrains?
This is where Keke comes in. Though Keke can not access the most difficult and narrow terrains that some Okada riders can dare, it can go further than cars. Kekes are generally safer than Okadas due to the slower and closed nature of tricycles. Their drivers are easier to talk to since more people are involved.
So what will moving from place to place in kubwa look like in the next 2 or 3 years? Will Okada riders continue to ride? We don't know. But we see Keke replacing Okada in the nearest future. This is why it is advisable to be on the look out and watch how local laws unfolds in Kubwa.
Who knows. Keke business might just be the next big thing in Kubwa.
