1. Visit National Identity management commission (NIMC) official website by clicking here.
2. When the NIMC Website opens, click the Proceed button
3. Now, fill in your First name, Last name and your National Identification Number
Hit the ‘check now button’
You will be able to see the status of your card.

Not to worry, NIMC’s USSD service enables you to retrieve your NIN conveniently using your mobile phone.
This service is now available on all mobile networks in Nigeria.
To use this service, simply go through the following steps:
1. dial *346#
2. from the options displayed, select “NIN Retrieval”, by typing in ‘1’, if you are using the same phone number you enrolled with for your NIN or
select “NIN Search”, by typing in ‘2’, to retrieve your NIN by inputting some of your registered details (if you are not using the same phone number you enrolled with)
3. follow the steps displayed on your screen and provide the required inputs.
*Note that using this service attracts a N20 (twenty naira) fee only (deducted from your phone credit balance).
