Private schools are generally beautiful because they offer better academic services and experience to students. But you don't have to fear for the future of your child if you can not afford a private school at the moment. This is because you can do the following;
LET THEM KNOW THAT GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS ARE NOT ALL BAD
It starts with knowing that government schools are not all that bad. You have to see and believe it before making your kids see if from your perspective.
GET TEXTBOOKS
Don't lack text books. Get them as much learning materials that you can afford. There are good text books if you are looking in the right places. Second hand textbooks can help alot if that's all you can afford at the moment. Many times both private and Government schools use the same texts.
EXPOSE THEM TO EDUCATIVE CONTENT ONLINE
There are good educative resources on youtube,Khan academy, Efiko and many other websites. Encourage your kids to visit these sites in search of good materials. You can provide guidance on this so they don't abuse the use of the internet.
GET A LESSON TEACHER
Talk with them often about their subjects and ask to know where they are not measuring up. You can then get a teacher to make up and bridge the gap. Encourage your kids to study, tell them that they can grow to be anybody they want to be. Praise them when they do well not just scolding when they fall short.
GET THEM TO MINGLE
Get them to mingle with students from other schools. This will build their self esteem and confidence. Especially when they find out they are not far behind.
